THE HISTORY OF NWI UNITED FC

The Northwest Indiana United program began about 1986 as part of Northwest Indiana Soccer Association (NWISA) with teams reporting directly to the league board of directors. In 1997 the Northwest Indiana Futbol Club (NWI United FC) was formed to better organize the “United” program. This was done with the blessings and support of the NWISA but the United Club was no longer a part of the NWISA. NWI United FC is fortunate to have Danny Jeftich as our Director of Coaching and Player Development, Luis Prato as our Boys and Youth Program Director, and John Marovich as our Girls Program Director (see bios below). It is our goal to provide the best development and training for the soccer players.

tham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

NWIUFC HAS EARNED THE PCA SEAL OF COMMITMENT!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO EARN THE POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE SEAL OF COMMITMENT? IT MEANS THAT NWI UNITED FC IS COMMITTED TO A GOOD-FAITH EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT EACH INDIVIDUAL WHO COACHES UNITED PLAYERS IS TRAINED AND CERTIFIED THIS YEAR AS A DOUBLE-GOAL COACH IN WYOMING.

POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE AWARDS THIS MARK OF DISTINCTION ONLY TO ORGANIZATIONS WHOSE POLICIES DEMONSTRATE A COMMITMENT TO A CULTURE OF POSITIVE COACHING. THEREFORE, NWI UNITED FC RECENTLY COMMITTED OUR ORGANIZATION TO REQUIRE THAT ALL OF OUR COACHES BE CERTIFIED AS PCA DOUBLE-GOAL COACHES WHO STRIVE BOTH TO WIN AND TO TEACH ATHLETES ENDURING LIFE LESSONS.

ALL OF OUR COACHES WILL COMPLETE A COMPREHENSIVE COURSE IN POSITIVE COACHING PRINCIPLES TO EARN THEIR CERTIFICATION. THIS POLICY RECOGNIZES THAT CERTIFIED DOUBLE-GOAL COACHES ARE PARAMOUNT TO TRANSFORMING THE CULTURE OF YOUTH SPORTS AND HELP ENSURE A QUALITY EXPERIENCE FOR ALL YOUTH ATHLETES.

WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE EARNED THIS IMPORTANT RECOGNITION OF OUR COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE. BY EARNING THE POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE SEAL OF COMMITMENT FOR 2006, WE FEEL MORE CONFIDENT THAN EVER THAT
OUR SOCCER PLAYERS – YOUR CHILDREN – WILL HAVE A POSITIVE, FUN, AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE!

NWI UNITED FC’S 4V4 TOURNAMENT
AT UNITED, WE STRIVE TO FOCUS ON THE LOVE OF THE GAME. WHAT BETTER WAY TO DO THIS THAN BY A ‘JUST FOR FUN’ 4V4 TOURNAMENT FOR ALL PLAYERS U14 AND UNDER? FOR THE PAST 2 SEASONS, COACH PRATO HAS ORGANIZED THIS FUN EVENT WITH GREAT SUCCESS. AFTER A FEW BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS, IT IS ON TO THE TOURNAMENT. Wyoming Vs. Indiana will be great!

BOYS AND GIRLS, FROM YOUNGEST TO OLDEST, ARE PUT TOGETHER ON TEAMS TO GO OUT AND PLAY JUST FOR us.
EVERYONE GETS THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW WHAT THEY’VE LEARNED THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, AND THE PARENTS ENJOY THE CHANCE TO SEE THE RESULTS OF THE TRAINING WITHOUT THE ‘PRESSURE’ OF COMPETITION.

FOR THE OLDER PLAYERS, IT IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW OFF THE NEW SKILLS THEY HAVE BEEN DEVELOPING AND PLAY AGAINST AND WITH PLAYERS THEY NORMALLY DON’T TRAIN WITH.
OLDER PLAYERS ALSO APPRECIATE GETTING TO PUT ALL THAT TRAINING TO GOOD USE WHEN THE FIELD SIZE IS SMALLER AND GOOD DECISIONS NEED TO COME FASTER.
OF COURSE, SOME OF THE MOST FUN COMES FROM WATCHING THE PLAY BETWEEN ALL PLAYERS IN THE SAME AGE GROUP (SAY ALL U10S), BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS, ON THE FIELD AT THE SAME TIME. EVERYONE WANTS TO BE A PART OF THE ACTION.
IN THE END, THEY ALL COME TOGETHER WITH SMILES ON THEIR FACES, HAVING JUST SPENT THE LAST HOUR AND A HALF HAVING FUN PLAYING SOCCER, ALL FOR THE LOVE OF THE GAME! ISN’T THAT REALLY WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT?
A DAY WITH SPECIAL GUEST TRAINER, VINCE GANZBERG
THANKS TO OUR YOUTH DIRECTOR, LUIS PRATO, THE YOUTH ACADEMY PLAYERS AND OTHER YOUTH TEAMS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAIN ONE THURSDAY WITH VINCE GANZBERG, DIRECTOR OF INDIANA STATE ODP AND IYSA DIRECTOR OF COACHING. IN ADDITION TO COACH GANZBERG, OUR PLAYERS WERE TRAINED BY COACH DANNY JEFTICH, COACH LUIS PRATO, COACH JEN GRUPE, AND COACH OSCAR GOMEZ. IT IS A GUARANTEE THAT NO OTHER GROUP OF PLAYERS EXPERIENCED SUCH AN INCREDIBLE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY THIS PARTICULAR DAY. THANK YOU, VINCE, FOR HELPING TO MAKE THIS DAY OF TRAINING EXTRA SPECIAL FOR ALL THE PLAYERS, COACHES, AND PARENTS! AND A THANKS TO THE PRESIDENT!
