THE HISTORY OF NWI UNITED FC
The Northwest Indiana United program began about 1986 as part of Northwest Indiana Soccer Association (NWISA) with teams reporting directly to the league board of directors. In 1997 the Northwest Indiana Futbol Club (NWI United FC) was formed to better organize the "United" program. This was done with the blessings and support of the NWISA but the United Club was no longer a part of the NWISA. NWI United FC is fortunate to have Danny Jeftich as our Boys Director of Coaching; John Marovich as our Girls Director of Coaching; and Anthony Cardenas as our Youth Program Director. Luis Prato as our Boys and Youth Program Director. It is our goal to provide the best development and training for the soccer players of Northwest Indiana.
NWI United FC is very excited at the prospect of the upcoming spring 2008 season. It is our intention to maintain high standards, both on and off of the field, as reflected by the background of the coaches and trainers selected to lead these teams this spring. When a player is chosen for a United team, we hope that as both parents and players, you, too, will share in our optimism for this season. As an overview, please see the brief backgrounds on our coaching staff and some of the plans for the upcoming season.
