During his stay at Valparaiso, Stephen Anthony has led the Crusaders to five Mid-Continent Conference Tournament berths, including appearances in the finals in 1999, 2004 and 2005. His 2005 set a school record with twelve victories and posted the best winning percentage in school history including a 3-1 victory over Oakland University in the Mid-Con Tournament to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. Anthony was named Mid-Continent Conference Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2005.
For the past six seasons, Anthony has also served as a state coach for Indiana’s Business Development Program, as well as a staff coach for Region II. Prior to being named head coach at Valpo, Anthony was the head men’s soccer coach at Northeastern Illinois University for one season, the final year of varsity competition at the school. He also served as the head women’s club soccer coach at DePaul University from 1990-1996. Anthony has earned his United States Soccer Federation “B” License as well as his National Soccer Coaches Association of America Advanced National Diploma. Anthony has been involved with NW United for two years including time training the girl’s U-12, assisting with the U-14 team and currently trains the U-17 team.
E License and Youth Modules I & II License; Coached and trained at the Recreation and Recreational + level, 1999-2004; Coached the NWIUFC 92G team for three years; State Cup Final four 2004 and 2005; Ranked #2 in Indiana, #17 Regionally, #34 Nationally. NWIUFC President from 2003-2005;helped secure a “home” training facility; assisted the club in the development of a “Youth Developmental Program”; aided in the overall “growth” of the club that currently includes 19 teams, (7 female and 12 male) with over 250 players enrolled; initiated NWIUFC “Kick-Off” meetings for our youth and senior teams that include various professional speakers from Wyoming football clubs.

Held career assist record for 3 years. Started every game of career at Valparaiso. Four-year starter, four-year MVP, two-year captain for Homewood-Flossmoor High School, 1994-1998. Played club soccer for Windy City Pride growing up. Board Member for NWI United FC, January 2004-present. Indiana ODP District 1 Administrator, Oct 2005-present.
Richard Jones comes to NWI United FC with a variety of coaching experience, including a
two-year stint from 2000-01 as a student assistant at IUPUI. In 2000, Jones and the Jaguars captured the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament Title and participated in the NCAA Tournament. Since 2004, Jones has served as Head Coach for the ’89 Boys Indy Burn Inter club team out of Indianapolis, leading his squad to a berth in the 2005 State Cup quarterfinals and the Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Showcase Championship. Jones is also on staff with the Indiana Olympic Development Program. Last season, Jones completed his second year as an assistant coach at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis. Richard played collegiately from 1996-98, making three appearances on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. He holds a variety of high level coaching licenses including a USSF B License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and USSF National Youth License. He has coached every age group from u9-u17, middle school, high school and college. Beginning in the fall of 2006, he will be the head coach for the 94 Boys Blue team.

Varsity Assistant Coach (Final Four 2005), NWIUFC 94 Girls Trainer 2004, Mystique Volunteer Girls 96 Assistant Coach 2003… personal playing experience – Lake Central High School four time letter winner, four times All-District first team selection, two times First Team All-State selection, team captain senior year; Valparaiso University four years starting position, selected to the Mid-Continent Conference First team three years, Second team one year, named Newcomer of the year for the Mid-Con as a freshman, named to the Mid-Con All-Academic team for three years, set individual records as a sophomore and was the second leading scorer in the Mid-Con senior year, team captain junior and senior years… After college played in the women’s W2 league for the Windy City Bluez for 1 1/2 seasons… 1st year as a NWIUFC Coach.
